Marc "Woka" Watkins is a passionate and determined racer whose love for motorsport has been a defining part of his life. Originally from the UK, Marc moved to Perth in 2012 with his family, bringing not only his professional ambitions but also his deep-rooted passion for cars and racing, which has led him to participate in the Perth motorsport scene, including the Saloon Car Pro series.
Outside the track, Marc Watkins racing is known for his friendly, laid-back personality, often balancing the intensity of racing with his love for spending time with family and friends. He’s a hands-on kind of person, often working on his own cars, always striving to find that extra performance edge, especially in competitions like the Saloon Car Pro series and the vibrant Perth motorsport scene.
Marc Watkins racing took off soon after he arrived in Australia. He made his mark in the Holden HQ series, showcasing his natural talent behind the wheel with a 2nd place finish in the 2015 State Championship. His breakthrough came during the Perth motorsport scene with four consecutive State Championship titles from 2016 to 2019, solidifying his reputation as a top competitor in the Saloon Car Pro series.
A proud father and family man, Marc Watkins racing success on the track is fueled by the support of his wife and children. In 2020, Marc made the switch to the Saloon Car Pro Am series, where he won the State Championship in his debut year, showcasing his adaptability and skill. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Marc then advanced into the highly competitive Saloon Car Pro series with a VT Commodore, which brought its own set of difficulties. Despite facing incomplete seasons in 2021 and 2022, Marc’s perseverance allowed him to bounce back, finishing 4th in the 2023 Saloon Car Pro State Championship and 3rd in the WASCC Championship, further solidifying his presence in Perth motorsport.
Currently sitting 2nd in the 2024 State Championship with one round to go, Marc Watkins racing is filled with optimism about his chances, though he realistically expects a 3rd place finish. True to his competitive spirit, Marc knows that in racing, especially in the Perth motorsport scene, anything can happen, and he’s always ready to push for that top spot. When he’s not racing in the Saloon Car Pro series, Marc enjoys spending quality time with his family and tinkering in his garage, always dreaming up the next big race.
